Description
This gay landmark is next door to the site of the 1969 gay rebellion against police harassment. After a long closure, it’s been remodeled in a way that both preserves its historic dignity and strives to attract a new generation. It now has a decidedly collegiate feel; there’s a small stage for drag performances and occasional American Idol-type contests, with a more intimate dance space upstairs. Special nights range from dance soirées to bingo gatherings.

The Stonewall Inn has been lovingly restored. This legendary gay bar, from whence "Stonewall Rebellion" heralds, is well worth a visit. The wall panels are lovely, the booths large and comfy, and there's plenty of room at the bar to hang with friends, or meet new ones. Welcome back, Stonewall!
