Martial Vivot’s namesake salon resembles an intimate cocktail hour more than a conventional barbershop: The waiting room is highlighted by exposed brick, a flat-screen TV and a silver tray offering the finest top-shelf liquors, and just past the trio of partitioned styling stations sits a chic backyard. The haircuts are brisk, precise, and punctuated by rigorous shampooing and an elaborate manicure. Customers can choose between a cut by the master himself ($215) or a more wallet-friendly one by another stylist ($125). The salon also offers hair-straightening/-relaxing services (from $275) as well as a free 30-minute health-and-wellness assessment and follow-up wellness packages ($1,490 for a series of six sessions).Hours

Martial Vivot is hands down the most sophisticated mens salon in new york city, and the only one that gives you a world class hair cut. what's amazing too is even though the stylists there cut the hair of all these super important men and do the covers of all these major magazines (which you'll see if you look under any glossy mag styling credit) it is a totally unpretentious place. it's hard for me to believe that the person who made the comment above actually visited the salon.
complete rip-off. the head barber has a bad attitude, and, as the the review says, it's more like a cocktail bar than a salon. my hair was unevenly dyed, probably because i was left alone many times while the barber worked on other customers at the same time.
