Hammerstein Ballroom
Description
Patrons can sometimes be herded a bit like cattle here and the drink prices are among the most outlandish in town—upwards of ten bucks for a cheap cocktail in a plastic cup!—but this cavernous space, with its dramatic vaulted balconies, regularly draws big performers in the limbo between club and arena shows. The once-poor sound quality has been rectified, but unless you land tickets on the floor, it takes an amazing act to make a night special.
The Hammerstein is a HORRIBLE venue to see a show for the exact reason that you are treated as livestock. Let the acts you love to see know you dont want to attend shows where all aren't treated well. Who wants to pay hard earned money to be treated badly, no matter who the band? I saw the Furthur there 12/8 & 12/9. Sound was good, band was superb. Entire staff-- heinous. I am offended at how we were all treated, and that There wasnt a seat for me in the balcony and I bought my tix i1st hour!
