Description
Maxwell’s has been the most consistently forward-looking rock club in the metropolitan area for more than 20 years. Yes, it’s in Jersey, but PATH trains make the trip a relative breeze (the 15-minute walk can be a pain, but hey—it’s like seeing a slice of small-town America). The music ranges from punk and garage to indie and roots. Always a blast: hometown trio Yo La Tengo’s more-or-less annual run of Hanukkah shows.
