Travel: R, W to Whitehall St; 1 to South Ferry; 4, 5 to Bowling Green; then take the Statue of Liberty Ferry (877- 523-9849, statuecruises.com) at gangway 4 or 5 in Battery Park. (Service starts at 9am, with the last boat departing Battery Park at 3pm.) Ferry tickets $12, seniors $10, children $5. Purchase tickets by phone at 877-LADY-TIX. | Directions

Description
Lady Liberty—or Liberty Enlightening the World, as she’s officially known—was a gift from France on America’s 100th birthday. A universal symbol of freedom, the copper-plated sentinel stands 305 feet tall from the bottom of her base to the tip of her torch. Reservations are required for a tour of the statue’s interior.
