Rubin Museum of Art
Description
Opened in 2004, this six-story museum (once home to Barneys New York) houses Donald and Shelley Rubin’s impressive collection of Himalayan art and artifacts, as well as large-scale temporary exhibitions. Through July 13, 2009, ‘Patron and Painter: Situ Panchen and the Revival of the Encampment Style’ explores an important Tibetan painting tradition established in the 16th century.
