There’s a new alternative to weddings at the Plaza: The Brooklyn Pop-Up Wedding Chapel (303 Grand St between Havemeyer and Roebling Sts, Williamsburg, Brooklyn; 718-384-5194, brooklynchapel.com), a four-week series of bridal boutiques, art shows and nuptials targeting people who want a lower-budget yet still stylish ceremony. From Monday 1 to June 20, the space operates as a retail store where bridal parties and planners can load up on stationery and gifts, try on dresses, book hair and makeup trials, or shop for photographers, depending on the week. The real action happens when 303 Grand transforms into a functional wedding chapel June 25–30. The 40-person space will be styled and sponsored by Martha Stewart Weddings. Chapel rentals start at $500 and include wedding cake, a champagne toast and an officiant. One lucky couple will win a free wedding—complete with flowers, photography, tux rental, and catering—to be featured in the Martha Stewart magazine and blog. Rings not included!
