The near-nautical theme and vague aroma of cleaning products might bring a motel restaurant to mind, but if you make the right choices from the huge menu, your meal will be far from bland. Pupusas, stuffed cornmeal tortillas that are a matter of national pride in El Salvador, are top-shelf. Order one of each snack-size treat (chicken, pork, zucchini, bean and cheese) and call it dinner. Or feast on the grilled tilapia fillet. Plantains come in several forms, most notably a creamy, cinnamony empanada de leche that you’ll go bananas over.
