Description
Everything about this stark eatery—from its unadorned white walls to the poker-faced servers—seems designed to keep all eyes on chef Anita Lo’s virtuosic vittles. Her seafood is inspired: A silken, miso-marinated sablefish is served atop fluffy tofu in bonito broth, and a gratin layers scallops, sea urchin and briny sea beans to beautiful effect. You may not warm to the austere atmosphere, but the kitchen will win you over.
