Landmarc at the Time Warner Center

Dining at Landmarc in the Time Warner Center is a bit like dating a well-groomed boy—it’s restrained, reliable and never out-of-line. A dark-wood and rusted metal aesthetic is the backdrop to extremely well-executed if not all that inventive French-accented New American cuisine like a flawless Niçoise salad and perfectly acceptable asparagus mimosa—grilled spears topped with chopped egg and tarragon aioli (the name makes it sound more intriguing than it is). Gorgeous rock shrimp over creamy risotto is a beautiful contrast of textures, but suffers from a monochrome presentation and one-note richness. Perhaps it’s just as well—food that draws attention to itself might prove too distracting for the business execs that frequent the place for their working lunches.
