Description
No matter what we write, tourists will continue to flock to the Tavern. And the staff knows it: After our captain presented the fruits de mer platter with a flourish, he and his legions were MIA for the rest of the night. Dishes from John Milito’s kitchen ran the gamut from tried to tired: Entrées such as grilled swordfish or filet mignon might have been handled as well, or better, by anyone with a broiler. There is also a gift shop, a wandering photographer and balloon bouquets. So why go at all? Location, location, location.

I too went because of the location, but was very sorry. Ok waiters, OK food. the worst part of my visit was that I left my camera sitting by my feet. We walked out, and then realized we had forgotten it, we called approx. 15 minutes after leaving and were told they had already sat another couple at our table and refused to look under the table. My camera was gone - NOT TOO CLASSY - I would say take the carriage ride thru central park instead - and save your money.
