Description
This Upper West Side eatery snubs the fauxthentic trappings that mark too many of the citys French bistros. In place of the battered wicker furniture youll find tin ceilings and marble-topped tables that see a parade of well-executed brasserie staples. A marinated rack of lamb is served with a simple yet satisfying accompaniment of thinly sliced red potatoes, and fresh herbs are generously strewn over salads and steak frites alike. For dessert, you cant go wrong with the classic crêpes suzette.
Hours
Mon–Sat noon–3pm, 5–11pm; Sun noon–3pm, 5–10pm.
FAUX FRENCH. There is nothing authenic about Cassis....and with the snug, unwelcoming attitude of the owner and the Spring weather in full swing, walk on by. There are so many wonderful French, European, Asian, and other cuisines in NY where the food is first rate, the atmosphere relaxing, and the service inviting, that you should not have to endure the bad manners of Cassis. It is not indicative to most restaurants in our wonderful city who make guests feel welcome and serve them with style
