A-list patrons fill the tables at this Upper West Side hot spot, drawn to the restaurant’s hearty dishes–the bigger, the meatier, the saucier, the better. Fritto misto is a mammoth mound of deep-fried shrimp, squid, fennel, zucchini and more. It’s an endless starter and merely suggests what’s to come. Just hearing the names of ‘Cesca’s dishes will fill you up: pancetta-wrapped calf’s liver; pasta al forno, with meat ragu and crema di Parmigiano; riso di Canaroli with honey-glazed squab; enormous pork shanks and roasted vegetables. Even if you usually shun doggie bags, this place might change your mind. Everything’s just too tasty to leave behind.
