Description
The latest eatery from restaurateurs Drew Nieporent (Nobu, Tribeca Grill) and Michael Huynh (Bao 111, Bao Noodles) yields some nice, if pricey, gourmet adaptations of Asian staples. One kind of spring roll is made with shiitake, chanterelle and hen-of-the-woods mushrooms. Battered-and-fried cuttlefish replaces the usual salt-and-pepper shrimp, and beef lovers will appreciate the tasty Wagyu cheeks stew. The main space is bright and casual, but the bar area, separated from the kitchen by a wall of ornately carved wood, is visually more impressive.
