Description
Spacious Tacos Matamoros teems until the wee hours with locals and in-the-know foodies who’ve made the pilgrimage for what could be the best taco in the five boroughs. The tangy carnitas pork, succulent al pastor pork and perfectly grilled carne asada beef burst from pairs of soft corn tortillas. Order the tacos grande so that they come crowned with a decadently creamy layer of guacamole. Matamoros also makes a robust pork stuffed tamale and delicious (if mild) enchiladas, but the sensational tacos and accompanying spicy red and green house chili sauces make it hard to notice anything else on the menu.
