Description
Like a model who kills the conversation the moment he opens his mouth, the magic of this attractive American bistro dies once the food hits your lips. We left much of chef Ian Topper-Kapitan’s dishes uneaten: Shrimp pierogi were gluey bundles filled with mealy crustacean. A braised pork shank was bland and remarkably dry. Only a cheese-sauced pasta with bacon and mushrooms was tasty enough for us to consider scarfing it down. Maybe the chef ought to stick to the things he does well and make this place a mac-and-cheese bar.
