Description
The brainchild of husband-and-wife team Francine Stephens and Andrew Feinberg, this progressive pizzeria draws a mix of hip moms, peckish young urbanites, and cute couples from neighboring Park Slope and Prospect Heights. Upbeat jazz provides a steady hum, and a fire crackles in the brick oven. This is socially responsible pie, made with hormone-free meats and local produce. Try the tomato and mozzarella pizza topped with house-made sausage, or a pastalike the spaghetti with chilies and mint, bursting with ricotta.

I finally had the opportunity to have a meal at Franny's...a bit late in the game but I'm glad I did b/c now I know I am not missing anything. The pizza was so so...nothing was particularly memorable about the meal except the price!!!! What a rip off! Come on Time Out...a $15 appetizer consisting of one, ONE link of sausage and tiny amount of greens. I usually do not comment on websites but I was steered wrong by Time Out and doubt if I'll listen again.
