Description
Located on the second floor in a Diamond District building, Taam Tov (Hebrew for good taste) may not be the easiest place to find, but the bustling, absurdly inexpensive, Uzbek, glatt-kosher spot is well worth the search. Soups are nearly meals unto themselves: cilantro-spiked beef borscht, noodle-rich lagman (a beef broth with pasta and vegetables) and piquant, thick kharcho (beef stew). Plates of kebabs with heaps of french fries show up on nearly every table, but there are plenty of lesser-known regional specialties too, including manti (large meat dumplings) and rice-based dishes like plov.
