Description
It’s always interesting to see a master of high-end cuisine dress down: Here you can order a beer with dinner, and you don’t have to use your quiet voice in either of the chic dining rooms. Servers can tell you all about the country duck pâté, but they won’t try to up-sell you on a pricey bottle of wine. Daniel Boulud’s original $32 DB Burger (sirloin, braised short ribs, foie gras and black truffles on a Parmesan bun), which famously launched New York’s haute-burger war, has been one-upped during truffle season by the $59 DB Burger Royale (topped with one layer of freshly shaved black truffles) and again with a $120 version (two layers).
