I have to disagree with Joan below, we recently returned from New York and stumbled across this diner (we weren't aware of the award and wasn't in our guide books). The food and service was excellent, with free refills and water, so much so we went here every day for breakfast/lunch. If you are around the midtown area make sure you head here... excellent diner
The Skylight Diner won readers choice 08 Best Diner, so we tried it. The hostess who sat us was nice, but after that it was all downhill. The waitress we had was indifferent. She did not even come once to refill coffee or ask how the food was. She did not pay attention to what we requested. The food was average or less and did not come out as fast as some diners. I dont know who voted for this place, but we will never go again or reccomend it & we work in Hospitality & are often asked.
