Description
Graydon Carter brought in a star chef to wrangle the kitchen at this buzzy, super-elite landmark: Larry Forgione (An American Place). The dining room—imagine the Stork Club without the big bands—echoes the chef’s old-fashioned menu. Oysters Rockefeller feature plump, silky bivalves and top-notch creamed spinach. Among the meaty mains is a peppery pink bone-in veal chop served steakhouse-style with a tangle of cress. Classic sweets rarely go out of style: Eton Mess, a mash of meringue, whipped cream and berries, is a sloppy as it is delicious.
