Description
This restaurant offers a fine-dining experience via dishes like a pork sugo pappardelle, lavished with a rich kale-flecked sauce and chilled burrata. Bone marrow elevates a fat-swaddled strip loin, with marrow and bordelaise sauces spooned underneath. Dessert—like a homey peach and blueberry cobbler—is far less complex than the savory dishes, but the flavors that finish the meal are just as clearheaded as the ones that start it.

Allen & Delancey was our worst dining experience in NYC. We were seated 45min late for a Monday 930pm reservation (with no apologies) and were then asked to transfer wine from the bar to table ourselves (another 10 minutes). Complaints to the pompous maitre-d (also the owner) fell on deaf ears. The food was mediocre and the lamb was very overcooked. The early buzz has gone to the head of the owner and wait staff and I highly recommend skipping this NYT "Top Newcomer of 2007"-far too many other great NYC restaurants who merit your business.
