Description
Harlem gains an ambitious French bistro from Daniel alums Jerome Bougherdani andchef Matthew Tivy. The 60-seat space, with its globe lights and powder-blue banquettes, evokes a classic bistro, while dishes from the Lyon, France-born executive chef, Thomas Obaton, range from the traditional (beef bourguignonne) to the bold (calfs-foot croquettes).

A lovely restaurant! I live nearby and eat here often. The servers are top-notch, the ambiance is just right, and nearly everything is perfectly delicious. Regarding the summer menu, my favorite dish so far is the stuffed flounder that was offered in August. My only disappointment is with the desserts; they taste store-bought, perhaps even defrosted. (I've tried the chocolate/hazelnut dacquoise, rum-soaked cake, floating island, and crepes). Otherwise, beaucoup stars for Chez Lucienne!
I had a wonderful meal of Skirt Steak with Potatoes Gratin at Chez Lucienne on Sunday 3/22. The only complaint that I had is with the service. Our waiter missed an opportunity to close the deal. He never asked if we wanted dessert, coffee or another glass of wine. He walked by several times after our plates had been cleared, but never asked us anything else. Just a simple question could have added another $25 to our final bill, but the waiter never asked.
I got to photograph and thus try a lot of their dishes for their website, and I must say: the chef has got talent! My winter favorites (they will be changing their menu every season): Grilled Salmon; Skirt Steak; Mozarella/Tomato Salad, Asparagus Soup; Warm Chocolate Cake;
I absolutely loved this place. Great food, excellent service, and a nice cozy atmosphere. Exactly what the neighborhood needs.
