Description
Portraits of jazz giants hang on the walls of this perpetually packed Harlem classic. A bottle of hot sauce dresses every table—a worthy condiment for thickly battered catfish or chicken and waffles. Delicately fried okra is delivered without a hint of slime, and the mac and cheese is gooey inside and crunchy-brown on top. Titanic helpings of cinnamon-crusted peach cobbler and thickly iced red velvet cake lend the menu a grandmotherly touch.

  well o.k ... i drove all the way from queens to amy ruth. and i didnt regret it one bit. i am a new york dominican n married to an italian with southern black friends wich are totally down to earth n they always talk about smuthered pork chops n chicken n waffles. now im use to rice beans n pasta so thats way out the ordinary if it ain kfc boston market or chinese food but neways i had (c.w) and it was outstanding umh..umh..umh.. has to be be on my top 5 list of res in nyc
