Description
The jam-packed solo debut from chef Akhtar Nawab (Craft, EU) features an eclectic menu and a top-tier cocktail program. The shabby-chic dining room directs all eyes toward the open kitchen, which turns out Indian-inflected fare. Though some dishes can be inconsistent (see the duck breast mismatched with a dense, Indian-spiced ground-duck sauce), gems are to be found: We loved the crispy quail, served with a deep-fried, soft-boiled quail egg and frisée with mango vinaigrette. As the ambitious Nawab finds his voice, Elettaria could evolve from moderate hit to the sensation it aspires to be.
