Description
Tucked away on a sleepy street in Greenpoint, this funky spot serves great comfort food, and depending on your roots, you might feel right at home. The backyard is decorated with a pink plastic flamingo perched in a pot of jasmine. Not one bite disappoints: Luscious mussels (an occasional special) are served on the half shell with creamed spinach and aioli; the sweet-pea flan, accompanied by roasted carrots and a generous serving of greens, is a refreshing dish on a warm night. Top your meal off with a slice of seasonal fruit pie. The menu changes weekly.

Food's good; decor's bad. I always have to be talked into going here, because the decor looks like something I'd have helped my friends pull together in an afternoon. (And that is not a good thing.) But then, the food is always amazing. Even if it sometimes takes awhile to make it to your table.
