Description
D.C. restaurateur Philippe Massouds stylish Lebanese eatery would feel right at home in cosmopolitan Beirut: Wood-paneled walls, pocked with windows and mirrors, create the impression of a giant kaleidoscope, and the menu is flush with elevated takes on the familiar. Kebabs, like the lean, moist lamb skewers, were near perfect, and a beautiful chankleech cheese-and-tomato salad was chopped fine with scallions, thyme and oregano. Err on the gluttonous side and overorderthe too-small portions left us craving more.

Keep in mind, in NYC, you aren't just paying for the food but the overhead to keep the business open plus turn a profit. This includes the hefty real estate in which the establishment is housed. Not a small price. If you can prepare the dish cheaply and cost angers you, stay home.
Ok, listen, this place is pretty. But take it from me - I'm Lebanese and grew up eating this food. I have half of it in my home right now - do you know I could feed my entire huge family using the money they charge for one dish. Hummus? I made it tonight w/ sun dried tomatoes and the entire thing cost me less than $2 to make - don't go spending $8 on it. If you want to go and enjoy the atmosphere, go for it, but don't go there hungry and know that these dishes cost near nothing to make.
The food was excellant with such beautiful surrondings. Will certainly be back..
Great food and fabulous ambiance! Will def. go back.
