Description
A tiny East Village restaurant run by two Aix vetsowner Jehangir Mehta and chef Andres Vazquezdelivers global fare thats reflected in the decor: A Ganesh bas-relief anchors one wall, and an oversize Buddha the other. Among the tapas on offer, we liked watermelon salad with salty feta and a sweet mint sorbet, and a Chinese-style pork bun fragrant with cinnamon and cloves and served with apricot chutney. Mehta seats diners at one of the cramped communal tables, where they lean in to ask neighbors about one intriguing dish after another. Following our meal, gratis prosecco bolstered the friendly vibe.

Loved the place! Somehow I cannot imagine the downtown neighborhood without this joint. It’s a cozy place with the settings that instantly make you feel at home. Initially I was unsure about visiting this place because of my limited (and not so good) experiences with eclectic cuisine. Once I was there, the warm and slightly informal atmosphere put me at ease and I decided to trust the staff to recommend the best and surprise me. Till date their recommendations have done wonders to my pallet.
