Description
If your Japanese dining experience is limited to sushi and soba, this is a great place to broaden your Nippon palate. Dine at the sleek oak sushi bar or at small tables lit by a row of spherical hanging lights. The menu deftly covers appetizers, entrées, sushi and obanzai, Kyoto-style tapas. It’s rotated almost daily and is reported on their quirky blog, hibino-brooklyn.com/blog. The sushi is excellent, but it’s the cooked food that stands out: Chicken teriyaki is skin-on organic fowl with al dente asparagus and okra pods, and the soy pudding dessert is beyond creamy.
