Description
The sophomore venture from Sfoglia owners Ron and Colleen Suhanosky suffers from a crisis of both vision and execution. The blandly attractive interior is echoed in the soulless menu. Spaghetti—in a sauce of hazelnuts and ricotta salata—was boiled to an unpalatable mush. A pork scaloppine, pounded too thick, was caked in a dense, soggy crust with a messy salad of grated carrots slathered on top. Only Civetta’s beautifully crusty sourdough bread manages to live up to its forerunner’s standards. It was brought down, our waiter admitted, from the mother ship.

Do NOT listen to the review in TIMEOUT regarding this restaurant. This place is absolutely wonderful, from the food to the rustic italian decour, the critic just doesn't get it. I highly recommend coming here, especially for big family occasions. Do not pass this up. I have been there 5 times and have brought friends from Italy there and they were extremely impressed.
I go to Civetta as often as possible. The food is amazing and the service is outstanding. A great addition to the neighborhood. I highly recommend Civetta!
The well experienced crew behind Civetta proved what one can do when group of prominent people from the industry does when put together. Civetta is a true perl to the neighbourhood of Nolita with amazing food, cocktails and wine and elegant and chic interior. I am really excited to have such a lovely place near by. If you are looking for a beautiful atmoshpere and good food and drinks head to Civetta!
I attended a fundraiser at Civetta tonight June 9th and the food, service, management and atmosphere was delicious! Classy and well put together. Highly recommended.
