Description
Chef April Bloomfield (the Spotted Pig) takes her high-low mash-up into more ambitious territory at this psychedelic seafood shack, designed by owner Ken Friedman. The focus here is on straightforward seafood presentations using top-notch ingredients. Scallops join razor clams in a creamy wine-soaked shellfish stew, and squid bodies are stuffed with smoky chorizo-flecked short-grain rice (a sort of inverted paella). Dessertsincluding cider jelly (basically hard-cider Jell-O)are pure old-school Britain. If you didnt grow up with this stuff, their appeal may be lost on you.

Unfortunately this great place just closed down in late August 2009. I hope it reopens elsewhere. Its food and its decor were incredible. Was sorry to come back from a vacation to find it gone.
