Description
Joseph Ulloa, once a regular at the Port Washington branch of this New Orleans Japanese restaurant, brings the chain to NYC with partner Richard Volpe. Sushi chefs stand sentinel behind a white-marble bar anchoring the 2,800-square-foot space. If the selection of nouveau rollslike the Hawaii 5-0 (coconut-battered shrimp, cream cheese, mango and avocado)is too dizzying, take a breather in the high-design restrooms, where Jackie Chan flicks are projected on the floor.

OMG...that's all I have to say about this place. My girlfriends and I had our Thursday night ritual (Girl's Night Out). We decided to try this new sushi joint that opened up in Chelsea. They had all the simple rolls you'd find anywhere else but can I tell you, their "DESIGNER ROLLS" as they like to call were amazing!! You have to try the LSU Roll which consisted of tempura shrimp, cream cheese and packed on layers of kani salad, tuna and avocado. For appetizers we had the Chelsea Pie...yum!
Found this place through some of my friends in chelsea. This place is like a diamond in the rough. I've been to some good japanese restaurants, but Rock n Sake had some of the best fish i've ever had. The sushi chefs are very knowledgeable and the staff is extremely friendly. I almost feel like family there since they know me by name. Their kitchen food is very good and their sushi rolls are to die for. Try the New Orleans or the LSU roll. You wont be disapointed.
My new favorite japanese/sushi restaurant...spectacular rolls, sake cocktails, and decor. You have to try this place.
