Baum for Peace
Description
** [TWO STARS] Lefty San Francisco firebrand Terry Baum writes and stars in this two-person production depicting her failed attempt at getting elected to Congress. Sharing the stage with Baum is the entertaining Scrumbly Koldewyn, who plays Baum's transvestite, piano-playing campaign manager. The show, which charts Baum's transition from disaffected Democrat to write-in Green candidate, focuses its uber-liberal vitriol on the perceived political kowtowing of Nancy Pelosi. While most of us can sympathize with her message, the playwright-performer's peacenik polemic with musical accompaniment isn't actually all that adventurous.—Drew Toal, Assistant Seek Editor
