Description
This postmodern crowd-pleaser is narrated and annotated by the warm, fussy Man in Chair: a slightly sad, lonely musical-theater nostalgist who presents us with a “forgotten” 1928 chestnut. (Note: Comedian Bob Saget plays the role through February.) Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison’s score is a collection of affectionate homages to Jazz Age songs, performed with flouncy vim by a zippy ensemble.—AF
