A Place to Bury Strangers + King Khan and the Shrines + Black Acid
Description
River to River Festival. A Place to Bury Strangers does aggro electrogoth that we immediately associate with those black-clad misfits in ’80s teen movies. In the nine-member-strong Shrines, King Khan forgoes the minimalism of his other group (the fantastic duo King Khan & BBQ Show) to present a spectacle featuring prominent horns, a groovy rhythm section and pom-pom dancers. The nexus remains Khan himself, who appears as a mock preacher in a sleazy white suit, a simultaneous tribute to and send-up of sweaty soul stars.
