Description
Philip Glass’s groundbreaking second opera, a meditation on Gandhi and his philosophy of passive resistance, comes to the Met at long last, in an innovative production by director Phelim McDermott and designer Julian Crouch, a tremendous success last year at the English National Opera. Richard Croft takes on the role of Gandhi; other vocalists in the cast include Rachelle Durkin, Earle Patriarco and Alfred Walker. Dante Anzolini conducts.
