Corey Dargel and Now Ensemble

The small details that bind people together are not often immortalized in the over-produced pop ballads that stalk us through department stores and blare out of car stereos. But local composer Corey Dargel has been aiming to represent the romances of common folk by accepting commissions to write custom-made love songs. His new CD, Other People’s Love Songs, features thirteen such tunes, which he’ll perform tonight. Now Ensemble performs a set from its own repertoire, and also joins Dargel in an arrangement by composer Darcy James Argue.
