Description
Local indie-rockers the Telephones toggle between a revved-up new-wavey style and mellow folk-pop. The foursome’s poignant lyrics and oddball sense of humor show some nice potential. Blaise Siwula is a subtly intense local saxist who has been an underrated mainstay of the local avant-jazz scene for many years. Opener Sten Hostfalt’s prepared-guitar explorations combine jazz soloing with surreal effects; we’re impressed with his fast fingers and intense focus.When
