Kidz in the Hall + Nyle + 88 Keys and more
Description
Another excellent bill from NYU: Smart but not too much so for their own good, Naledge and Double-O of Kidz in the Hall bust rhymes from their dope album, The In Crowd. The two bring the right energy to the stage, tripping up only when they strain to involve the crowd. 88 Keys is more producer than artist: He delivers his own rhymes through a filter that simulates the quality of a phone call on The Death of Adam, while assigning key plot points to actor-vocalists like Kanye West, Redman and Bilal. If you can’t laugh along with his attempt to breathe new life into the dying rap-album format, you’re better off avoiding hip-hop altogether.
