Description
Chain and the Gang features Ian Svenonius (Nation of Ulysses, the Make-Up). The new band has all the hallmarks of a Svenonius project: He is frontman-as-soapbox-ranter, sounding off on conspiracies, capitalism and social etiquette. Svenonius has an apt traveling companion in K Records honcho and Chain contributor Calvin Johnson, the deep-throated oddity whose new band, the Hive Dwellers, is joining Chain and the Gang throughout this tour. Opening tonight is City Center, the solo project of Fred Thomas, a talented pop conceptualist best known for the dreamy Phil Spector–esque material he creates with Saturday Looks Good to Me.When
