Essential is a sprawling art-and-music party hosted by the LESS crew and held in an edge-of-Chinatown loft space. This being the Clubs section, we’ll concentrate on the music end of the equation, which features a pretty cool lineup of DJs—chief among them Juan Atkins, one of the founding fathers of Detroit techno. But there’s a strong posse of locals on hand for support (spinning the full range of house and techno), with No Agenda Recordings’ Kimyon (featuring Tricia on the mike), Chez Music’s Neil Aline, Taimur and Fahad from Blkmarketmembership, All About Music’s Luis Baro, Biatch Corp.’s Karraskilla and LESS’ own Vadim.
