Description
Waggish commentators could dub this the “Yoga Hamlet”: Jude Law stalks the stage in stretchy pants and a clingy T-shirt, doing lots of lunges and squats, looking like he just got out of a Bikram session. But Law tears into his classic material with verve, humor and intelligence. If his delivery lacks poetic music, at least he finds the passion and flashes of humor in the melancholy Dane. Michael Grandage’s overall production—dark-hued, modern-dress and unspecific—is generally solid, with especially fine work from Ron Cook as a canny Polonius. If you only see a Hamlet on Broadway every 14 years (the previous one starred Ralph Fiennes), this is well worth catching.—DC

I just saw Jude Law in Hamlet and it was the best performance I have seen on Broadway for many years. His passion and steadfast grasp of the character worth seeing.
