Not so long ago, a gathering of Toad the Wet Sprocket singer-songwriter Glen Phillips and members of newgrass trio Nickel Creek worked together under the name Mutual Admiration Society. Works Progress Administration finds Phillips banded together once again with Nickel Creekers Sean and Sara Watkins, with keyboardist Benmont Tench, bassist Pete Thomas and other luminaries along for the ride. The players may have come together at starry L.A. nightclub Largo, but the music has a winning homespun charm and humility.When
