Phi Hughes Bar is not named for the Yankee's starting pitcher! Phil Hughes from Galway Ireland bought the bar 45 years ago and named it after himself. Phil passed away a year ago and the bar is still run by the family.
This bar is not named for the Yankee pitcher but for a different Phil Hughes who owns the bar and the building. Just a coincidence he has the same name as the pitcher.
