Description
Great jazz never required plush environs. Exhibit A: the nonprofit Jazz Gallery, a bare-bones sanctuary for talented newcomers (John Ellis, Dafnis Prieto) and established pros (Roy Hargrove, Chucho Valdés). As the saying goes, “It’s the music, stupid,” and this loft space, art gallery and live music venue is one of the best places in the city to get intimate with the groove.
