A decade’s worth of municipal red tape—and a handful of floods—forced the downtown dyke bar Meow Mix to close, but felines have more than one life. Owner Brooke Webster followed many of her former patrons across the bridge and opened Cattyshack in Park Slope. You could easily get lost in the bi-level club, which has two bars, two dance floors and a spacious roof deck for smokers. Indulge in $3 Tecate beers, a monthly party for gay men and a karaoke night. Plus, the club’s cabaret license means riot grrrls (and the boys who love them) can shake it without worrying about raids from the dance police.
