Description
This futuristic spot is what we imagine a wine bar aboard the Starship Enterprise might look like. The mechanized setup is challenging at first, but ultimately liberating: Wine is dispensed from metal spigots at the push of a button, and a touch screen displays tasting notes for each selection. The tech doesn’t come cheap. Prizes such as Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf du Pape go for $26 a glass, but you won’t feel robbed by more affordable pleasures, like the flowery Miolo Vale dos Vinhedos pinot noir ($9). Compounding the otherworldly vibe: the sweeping Columbus Circle views.

hip and mod but the staff is anything but uppity and unapproachable. the futuristic scene was very cool but i give serious kudos to the friendly staff and pourers who made everyone at the table (and it is some table) feel like they belonged. excellent service, great selection of wines, and cool crowd.
