Description
Not many spaces recall the elegance of yesteryear as vividly as this hotel bar, a midtown fixture since 1936. A recent face-lift restored the famous simian murals, saving the Art Deco stunner from decay. Though expense-accounting executives have replaced the soigné celebs that once haunted the place (Tallulah Bankhead and Tennessee Williams were reportedly regulars), a glam sentiment still prevails. Sip a Capuchin Julep (bourbon infused with orange spiced tea, muddled cherries and oranges) and size up the moneyed crowd.

Mon–Thu noon–1:30am; Fri noon–2:30am; Sat 5pm–2:30am; Sun 5pm–midnight.
