Description
More than just a novelty act, this otherwise nondescript, Yankee-focused wine bar has one of the smartest, most thoughtful selections of American wine we’ve seen in town. In addition to the expected California and Finger Lakes options, the rotating list of 25 to 30 wines by the glass includes four unusual selections from Virginia producer Kluge (try the succulent viognier, which pits pear and tropical fruits against a commanding acidity). Informed and attentive servers and fine nibbles—including a $5 pickle plate—compensate for the bar’s main drawback: a remote location.
