Description
The wine bar at Mario Batali’s hugely popular pizzeria is an attraction in its own right, with plenty of tall standing tables, a long marble bar and a terrific Italian wine list. The place is invariably jammed with soon-to-be diners. Too bad: There are more than 500 Italian wines available, and the mini carafe quartini and abundant flights encourage maximum tasting. Serious oenophiles should avoid mealtimes.

Don't believe the hype. We ate there today and everything was terrible. The service was beyond belief. We sat for nearly 15 min before we saw our server. Then we had to beg a busboy for our water and bread. Then we had to ask the manager to bring us our wine, which arrived several minutes after our food. And the food was terrible, too. Don't waste your time and money on the Batali name. What a waste.
